School Counseling

The school counseling office assists students from elementary school through high school, advocating for students' well-being, and providing valuable resources for their future educational advancement. The School Counselor provides students academic advising through classroom presentations, individual conferences and/or small group counseling. The counselor is knowledgeable on topics, such as: colleges, scholarships and, military service branches.

The school counselor works with teachers and parents to resolve student issues, needs and problems. They can interpret cognitive, aptitude and achievement test results and help to develop plans for support services for students who have a need.

Counselors maintain student records; analyze grade point averages in relation to achievement and protect student records per the state and federal guidelines. The counselor helps to disaggregate and analyze the schoolwide data for improvement of programs and any unmet needs.
